System Integration involves linking both the data and business functions across a number of separate applications to deliver and meet the requirements of a business value chain. System Integration is required where a business process needs to involve a number of business applications in order to perform its function. Typically, this will be in order to gain or provide access to systems such as customer specific data (history data, finance data or payment data, production for order data and sometimes data provided by external supplier systems. System Integration will help organizations achieve cost reduction and a streamlined business operation through standardized platforms.
